Home Cooked Meal Day 3 - Lunch

Woke up at 9 am on Wednesday morning...yeah yeah yeah ! i know its early as it was my day off.

My 2 nieces was noisy and well....for a kid of 5 and 2 1/2 yrs old...what can i say.

Jasmine 5 yrs old - eldest and weigh 25 kg......ouch ! Another Sanguine in the making..*chuckle*

Elena 2 1/2 yrs old.....a caring girl

This is the first time, Elena took a pic with me. Before that it is like hell...she looks at me and she cried. What can i say........So, how am I ? Chubby or Fat ? Looks like i lost me neck....dats y have to lose 5 kg....

OK back to food. For lunch simple meal again of porridge..

Need i say more - even a nOOb can cook this simple dishes right ? Plain porridge with fried fish, sprout and salted vege with minced meat and tomatoes.

Soaked the whole salted vegetable in water changing 3 times over 24 hours. Get rid of most of the salt. Slice them up into juliennes. Ready for cooking.

Sauteed garlic, add in minced meat - mum used chicken this time, add in tomato julienne then the salted vegetable and kacau for under 2 minutes under intense heat. Served Hot.

As for the fish, i dont know what they called them. Simple enough, get them scaled and gutted by the fish monger, rub some salt and deep fried. Serve with soy sauce.

The sprout - called TAU MIU what do they called them in English ? Anyone can help....?

Just slice garlic and sauteed with sprouts. Season and serve....

Till then. wait for the dinner post.....*chuckle*

  4. in Singapore, we call them "doumiao" (mandarin) and I believe they are known as pea shoots in English. Very nice and crunchy, goes perfectly fried with garlic and if adventurous, add a bit of sambal also!
